Theory for Graded Ballet Examinations

In an examination, you will be asked to demonstrate all of the exercises you normally do in class. The examiner will also check that you know and understand the terms used for the names of the movements by asking you up to 3 questions during the course of the exam. Most of the terms used in ballet come from French or Italian origins, and their explanations are quite specific, and not necessarily literal translations.

To learn all the relevant terms, ask Gloria, Sarah or Mary for a copy of the 'Theory for Graded Ballet Examinations'. You will need to know all the terms from the lower grades as well as the one you are being examined in.

When you think you have learnt all the terms, click on your grade in the menu to test yourself. Fill in each answer, and click 'Submit' to reveal the correct answer... and your score.
